An old house among old houses. In the garden an apple tree bent to the ground. Coal in the cellar and old wooden skis in the attic. It was the first time we'd seen a house like this and we were thrilled. Especially thanks to the investor, who wanted to rebuild the house in the spirit of the 1930s, and in his thirties to realize his dream.

The renovation didn't start off well, the water broke through the frost and the historic parquet floors and elements we wanted to preserve were destroyed. So we ended up doing a more extensive renovation, including replacing the roof trusses. We modernized the outside of the house slightly, and the big debates about the crown molding ended up being accentuated by the over-roofing. The windows are sea blue.

The garden is quiet and manicured and the old apple tree, free of its dried-out twigs, is bearing fruit again.
